Community

Experience Deep Connection and Honest Relationships as Part of the Spirit House Community.

Becoming part of the Spirit House community is a vital step in connecting to Spirit and expanding its influence outside of coursework.

Being in community at Spirit House doesn’t just mean hanging out with like-minded people but agreeing to the obligations that come along with true community: showing up for and listening to others, addressing difficult issues, and using your voice to create a vibrant, spirit-filled culture.

Highlights from some of our past events:

Fall 2024
All Hallows Eve Party

Community members showed up at Spirit House dressed as their “rejected identity” to celebrate All Hallows Eve. The rejected identity is the part of us that we are scared to let others see, so this was a high stakes event!

We had The Preacher, The Guru, The Priest, Mr. Clueless and The Attention Whore among many other great disguises. This is where integration happens!

We welcomed in the parts of us that feel like they don’t have a place. Come join us next time and show off your hidden side!

Thanks to community members Ty and Diane for organizing this terrific event.

Fall 2024
Ancient Cedars Community Outing

Community member Adam Murray organized a weekend outing at his Central Washington Coast hideaway for Spirit House members. We shared some meals, elicited spirited conversation around the campfire, and got to spend some low-key, genial time together soaking up the atmosphere.

A highlight of the weekend was driving up the coast to spend time among the amazing ancient cedar trees. We were fortunate to commune with these powerful guardians and protectors that stand sentry at the entrance to the grove.

We then ventured on to another natural wonder - the log-strewn Ruby Beach another 5 miles down the road. The beach, surrounded by haystack rocks and covered in sand and water scrubbed logs, is truly spectacular.

We’re hoping our coordinator Adam will make this an annual event!

Winter 2024
Speaker Night

Our first Speaker Night featured Kat Courtney, co-founder of Plant Medicine People, talking about how tricky plant spirit communication can be.

After a fascinating presentation sharing her years of experience with plant spirits, Kat opened up the floor to questions. She spent another 90 minutes speaking on an amazing range of questions coming from a full house.

Thanks so much to Kat for making this such an interesting and informative evening!

Spring 2024
Planting Party & Potluck

We got together when the weather started cooperating to plant herbs, flowers, and a tree in Spirit House's new garden space.

Participants brought family members to dig around in the ground, share a meal, catch up with friends and meet new ones, and make a little music.

In a few years, those who participated will enjoy knowing they helped turn this space into something beautiful.

Winter 2024
Retreat to the Big Island of Hawaii

A highlight of the year at Spirit House was a week-long retreat to the Big Island of Hawaii. We stayed at the Ahu Lani Sanctuary set in an ancient Ohi’a forest as a base for exploring the island.

We challenged each other to go deeper into our connection with Spirit and with each other, and we also did plenty of fun stuff like visiting an active lava field.

*Retreats are only open to members so look into joining the community if you’d like to be invited to the next great adventure.

Winter 2023
Storytelling Night

Spirit House’s first-ever Storytelling Night featured four brave souls who shared intimate and vulnerable experiences with a captivated audience.

They spent months as part of Advanced Coursework exploring their hidden identities and painful and difficult emotions to give voice to deep truths.

It was incredibly moving watching the storytellers bare their souls allowing strangers to see their wounded parts and feeling the audience connect with the stories.
